Administration

FRAN NICHOLSON - MANAGER (Cheltenham)

Fran is a trained Speech Pathologist having graduated LaTrobe University with a Ba. Speech Pathology (2000) and has studied and worked broadly in acute hospitals, rehabilitation centres, aged care,  community and private practice with both adults and children. She has also volunteered widely overseas, working directly with those impacted by the 2004 tsunami in Thailand, in Cambodia, with disabled and HIV+ orphans and in Vietnam & Western China with children and families living in poverty.  Fran started with Sensational Kids in 2007 and developed a passion for relationship focussed treatment frameworks such as DIR Floortime.  Fran has  managed the practice since 2009 and is passionate about providing access for all children where able, and offering a great workplace for the hardworking SK team members.  She is based at our Cheltenham clinic.

AMBER DAY - MANAGER (KENsington)

Amber has a diverse professional background, commencing her career in the corporate world for 11 years before moving into health and disability over 10 years ago at Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect).  During her time at Aspect, Amber worked in the therapy and Positive Behaviour Support space.  Amber joined the Sensational Kids team in 2018 and is a self-motivated, lateral thinker with an optimistic outlook on life and has led teams on and off for over 20 years. She is a compassionate and approachable person, passionate about advocating for people with disabilities and in particular for the people who care for them. Through her own lived experience of supporting her son with significant disabilities, she has an acute awareness of the challenges faced by carers and an in-depth knowledge of the systems, opportunities and constraints of navigating a life faced by many of the families who access Sensational Kids services.  She is always looking for ways to improve processes to create efficiencies and questioning the status quo. She is equally as passionate about supporting others to achieve their greatest potential to live their best lives.  She has completed countless personal and professional development courses and has coached people on self expression and leadership programs. Amber believes strongly in the immense holistic value of volunteering and has volunteered on a number of committees, experiencing the abundance of benefits in contributing to others (as well as her own growth) in these capacities. Amber manages the Kensington site.

VIVIENNE - CLINIC ADMIN TEAM LEADER (CHELTENHAM)

Vivienne is our Cheltenham Clinic Admin Team Leader and has been with Sensational Kids for 6 years.   She loves helping find the right therapist and service for you.  She has a wealth of knowledge of our services, assessment and supports.  Vivienne loves seeing you and your families in our clinic and looks forward to welcoming you to Sensational Kids in Cheltenham.

VALENTINA - CLINIC ADMIN TEAM LEADER (KENSINGTON)

Valentina has worked in various roles over the past 30 years including retail, banking and finance and in the health and welfare sectors. Valentina’s passion for assisting families to secure therapy appointments for their children and her passion for guiding families through the booking process for Autism assessments is one of the many reasons she chose to apply for the admin role at Sensational Kids. Many a times she has spoken to families who have just had their paediatrician appointment for their child and the paediatrician has referred them to undergo an Autism assessment, quite often the families don’t understand the process and can be left feeling anxious about it all. Another key reason is the multidisciplinary approach to therapy offered. Seeing the smile on the children’s faces when they have finished their therapy session and watching their confidence grow is priceless. Fun fact you may not know about Valentina, she used to be a volunteer radio announcer on an ethnic radio program! She can speak Macedonian and understand a little Serbian, Croatian and Bosnian. She has been with Sensational Kids since 2020.

Sasha loves being able to connect with families, and to be able to help offer a service that provides so much under the one roof, as so many of our families need access to multiple therapies all at once. Sasha is based at our Kensington site.
